Access and parking


Car parks

We advise using one of the following car parks when coming to a UWA Theatres show:

Food, functions and catering

University Theatres offers excellent bar service in all of our venues.

We do not provide food service. However, there are plenty of dining options in the areas surrounding The University.

You can also organise a function with with friends or colleagues at interval or after the show. Food can be organised through an external caterer, while we provide the bar service.

Recommended caterers

Liquor permits

You need to apply for a liquor permit for functions not operating under University Theatres' Special Facility Licence. Such functions must be approved by the Theatre Manager or Patron Services Co-ordinator.

Public safety and liability

In accordance with Public Building Regulations, University Theatres have approved Evacuation Procedures for each of its venues. These plans have been submitted to the Education Department Insurance Officer for inclusion to their records.

Trained University Theatres staff are always in attendance at public performances and the Front of House Managers are specifically responsible for ensuring Public Safety and Health requirements are complied with. The University also has Security staff in attendance 24 hours/day whose duties include coordinating Emergency Services in the event of an evacuation.

The University of Western Australia also holds a $20 million public liability policy that covers visitors to the campus.

School groups

Visiting schools must also have a certified public liability policy that will cover damage and injury caused from negligence by students or teachers whilst on excursions.

Please note that teachers escorting school groups must obey the instructions of University Theatres staff at all times. Teachers will also be held responsible for the general conduct of their students while on campus of the University of Western Australia. Any willful damage caused by a member of a school excursion will be repaired at the expense of the school concerned.

Lost property

For lost property please telephone (+61 8) 6488 2691 between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Patrons please be advised that your property is your responsibility. To ensure that you do no lose anything you arrived with, remember to do a quick check before leaving the venue.

Please note, lost property is more likely to be found and returned to you if you:

  1. Phone (+61 8) 6488 2691 as soon as you notice it is missing
  2. Remember the name of the show you came to see
  3. Remember which venue the show was in
  4. Remember the date of the show you came to see
  5. Think about what you have lost, and be able to accurately describe it

University Theatres endeavour to ensure that all lost property is returned to its rightful owner.
