Successful front of house applicants will work in all of our venues in positions such as ushers, door staff, program sales or bar persons.
They will gain considerable experience in a wide variety of areas including patron interaction and service, the responsible service of alcohol, cash handling and teamwork.
It is essential that employees are available from December through to the end of April; in particular over the UWA Perth International Arts Festival period (February - March). Most performances take place during the evening, although there are some weekend matinees.
University Theatres recognises that to attract, retain and develop staff of the highest quality we must provide a positive and safe working environment. Staff will undergo training at all of our venues in areas including venue orientation, emergency evacuation procedures, bar and customer service.
Staff are provided with a University Theatres uniform, as well as Festival and bar shirts.
Front of house staff are rostered on a monthly basis and will receive their roster in the middle of the preceding month.
New staff will be mainly rostered on as ushers, door persons or ice cream sellers, but may be rostered to assist on bar or work as program sellers once they are familiar with the venues.
Applicants will be contacted for interview in early October. Successful applicants will be trained during November and begin working in December.
